Healthy Homes

Environmental health hazards are poisons and pollutants which can be invisible or hard to detect. Poisons can be deadly or can damage a child's nervous system. Indoor air pollution can cause asthma, allergies, and cancer. Environmental health also covers animal and insect safety to prevent the spread of disease. The Columbus Health Department's Envrironmental Health Division works diligently to educate parents, caregivers, and children about the dangers found in and around the home to reduce health problems, injuries, and deaths.
